Artist's Comments

It all started with a wrong turn in the twisting alleys of Firenze, Italy. So we found ourselves by the river, staring at a perfect reflection of the stunning sky, the morning sun nothing but a white glare through the curtains of clouds.

Rivers aren't usually the top candidates for sky mirrors, but there was one here and I wasn't complaining. Sometimes, looking back, it's almost too hard too believe that the reflections weren't popping out, that there wasn't another world beneath those calm waters, just as real and as solid as ours...

...Had I not been there to see it for myself.

Dedicated to Ying, hallmate, country(wo)man, travel buddy and Buddha-substitute who put up with trigger-happy Jonnie and me for the whole trip. This one's for you. :rose:

And for a change, I'd suggest you also take a look at this ZOOMED OUT 'cos there's an interesting gradient of tones that you might miss in full view. Full view, as always, has its own perks. ;)

Hope you like it. Feedback and comments appreciated.

Wow - gorgeous and dramatic... I love the composition as well, the sky and water is somehow foreboding :D

I was thinking the same thing too! Maybe it's the silhouette of the buildings and the clouds' shades? :) Thanks for dropping by!

This scene, my friend, just had "take me!!" written all over it. I did nothing but obey. :) Not big on technical edits, but real glad you liked it-- thanks for the :+fav:, mate!
